Some people think that the auction is
a VIP event gathering elite, collectors, businessmen, celebrities.
Nowadays, modern technologies make it possible for almost every
Worldwide Web user to bid at the very elite antiques auction of
Russia.
The auctions on-line version gives you a real chance to join to a new auction
culture, which is rather well developed in this country. If you
want to purchase from us but are unable to take part in our month
or season auction in person, you may leave an absentee bid on the
lots you like.
These sections of our website provide images and descriptions of items put
up for auction on the indicated day in the Gelos's
salesrooms at 2/6 or 4 1st Botkinsky Proezd,
Moscow, Russia.
If you cannot attend an auction in person but would like to participate
in the sale, you can fill in a bidding form and send it for us to execute
written bids according to your instructions. We will try to buy lots you
have chosen for the lowest price possible, though not exceeding the 'top
limit' you indicate, as is consistent with other absentee and in-person
bids. This service is free of charge and confidential.
The simplest and most convenient way is to leave an absentee bid (commission
bid) via the Internet.
In order to leave an absentee bid, click on the Leave an Absentee Bid
link under the description of the lot you like and fill in the form
offered (lot image and number will be added to the form automatically).
Filling in this form and registering at the Gelos Auction House's website,
you give your consent to observe all our rules (see also Gelos
Auction House's Terms & Conditions).
Additionally, clients who have already purchased items at our auctions
can send their absentee bid to director@gelos.ru.
The absentee bid must contain your name and surname; name of the item
(the first few words from the description) along with the maximum amount
you are ready to pay for the item in question (the bidding on your behalf
will be conducted within the price range you indicate). You must also
indicate your active e-mail address and contact telephone number.
Bidding on every lot opens with the starting price indicated and, unless
ontherwise announced by the auctioneer, the bidding increment is approximately
10% (see the table at the bottom of the page).
Gelos Auction House warrants that the lots you have chosen will be purchased
at the lowest possible price. Unless other participants make bids, you
buy the item at the starting price. If an auction participant present
in Gelos Auction House's salesroom bids a higher price, your bid will
auctomatically move one step forward within the maximum price you indicate.
If the last floor bid arrives at the upper bound of your absentee bid,
the floor participant who has entered the same bid wins, since the auctioneer
has no right to raise your bid any longer.
Please, remember that all sales are subject to a
10 percent buyer's premium, except for coins & medals category
at Friday auctions where all purchases are subject to a
5 percent buyer's premium.
When filling in the form, be sure to record accurately lot numbers, descriptions
and 'top limits' for each lot: the latter must coincide with the amount
to which you would bid if you were attending the auction yourself. 'Buy'
and unlimited bids and the like will not be accepted. Please, send your
absentee bid as early as possible. In the event of identical bids, the
earliest received will take precedence.
Accreditation or deposit of 10% of the lot value is essential to bid at
auction on lots with the starting price of $50,000 and more.
Absentee bids can only be placed up to 12.00 p.m. of the day of the auction.
When the auction is over, you will be informed by e-mail on the auction
results concerning the lots you have placed absentee bids on.
The buyer must make payment in full and take away all the lots purchased
not later than 3 days after the day of the auction. For clients who have
already bought items at our auctions,
a 7-day time-limit is also available, if a tentative agreement has been
reached.
Domestic shipment and various payment possibilities are also provided.
If you cannot collect the purchased lots in person and want us to send
them by post or via express mail, you should e-mail us in good time at
director@gelos.ru or correct payment
and shipment terms and mechanism. However, in any case, the lot purchased
must be paid for within 7 days after the day of the auction; otherwise,
it will be reoffered in a future sale.
