Welcome to the Antique Arms Department! The Antique Arms Department
is the youngest unit in the Gelos Auction House's branched structure.
It originated in March 2003, when the auction house first put up antique
arms for auction. It was a
pair of duelling percussion pistols. The August 2003 Season Auction
featured a separate sale category of fine antique arms. The results
of the first legal sales of antique arms met all the expectations, 90%
of lots were sold. From that time onwards, auction sales have been held
on a regular basis.
Today, the antique arms department has gained popularity among connoisseurs
of rare arms. Here, you will find various types of fire arms and cold
steel, from Turkish sabres, hunting knives, soldiers' broarswords to the
19th-century French duelling pistols and the 17th-century harquebuses.
The department's employees will help you choose a luxurious present
or a valuable object to match your private collection of antique
arms.
All the arms entering the department undergo state expert examination
at the Moscow Kremlin State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve,
the State Historical Museum and the Russian Ministry of Culture.
